U Penn’s MS 1066
The archivists at the University of Pennsylvania have shared this wonderful video getting up close and personal with their Manuscript 1066, one of several copies of an “Edward IV Roll” held in American libraries. These amazing documents are genealogical histories tracing the lineage of Edward IV back to Adam & Eve, and were created in the early parts of his reign to justify his accession to the throne during the turbulent Wars of the Roses. The American Branch has played an invaluable part in the preservation of Edward IV Rolls in the US, supporting digitization efforts of the U Penn roll and a complete restoration of the copy held by the Free Library of Philadelphia.
